Bâlea Waterfall
The Bâlea waterfall also known as the Urlătoarea Babei (Old lady’s howler) is located in the Făgărașului Mountains between Moldoveanu and Negoiu Peaks, at over 1600 meters altitude. This being the largest waterfall in steps in Romania, with a fall of 60 meters, marks the lower step of the Bâlea glacier circuit.
The Bâlea waterfall is spectacular in its grandeur and beauty. Whatever the season, the waterfall attracts tourists and completes the enchanting landscape of Transfagarasan.
