The Nerlinger Monument

This simple monument is located in Vârtopului Saddle, between Arpasul Mic and Arpasul Mare peaks and commemorates the accident on June 30, 1934, in which Richard Nerlinger and Herta Ruzicka lost their lives.

In August 2013, the Carpathian Mountain Association organized together with the Argeș Mountain Rescue Public Service a volunteer campaign for the restoration of the monument.
