Constructors’ Monument

The monument dedicated to the constructors of Transfagarasan is the most recent of the attractions, as it was not built by the constructors of the road, but is the work of the artist Constantin Samoilă. The Constructors’ Monument was built 33 years later to honour all those that gave their life to this amazing road.

The monument is built in marble, 4 meters high and is plated with metaloplasty elements illustrating moment from the construction of the road. The monument has the words ” Sacrifice, Glory, Homeland, Honour, Tribute” written on it in honour of the workers that lost their lives and whose bodies were never recovered.

The Constructors Monument can be found at km 102+200 m, close to the Piscul Negru hotel and was inaugurated on the 8th of June, 2017.
